HANOI ROCKS Frontman Suffering From Ear Infection; Band Cancel Dates
March 16, 2006HANOI ROCKS' scheduled concerts in Italy on March 24-25 and in Vienna, Austria on March 26 have been cancelled/postponed, according to a posting on the band's web site. Singer Michael Monroe "has had a severe middle-ear infection for three weeks now and it still hasn't gotten better," the posting adds. "Obviously he is not allowed to fly for quite a while yet, as this could permanently damage his hearing. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this."
HANOI ROCKS are scheduled to support TWISTED SISTER on a U.K. tour beginning in early June. The Finnish rock legends are continuing to tour in support of their "Another Hostile Takeover" album, which was issued in Finland last spring. The CD is the group's first album to feature Conny Bloom (ex-ELECTRIC BOYS),who joined the band last year. HANOI ROCKS' current lineup also includes a second ex-ELECTRIC BOYS member, bassist Andy "A.C." Christell. Plans exist for the group to embark on a North American tour later in 2006.
